In Bethlehem, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Pennsylvania, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Bethlehem is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Bethlehem peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Absolutely blew me away. The selection, cultivars, I mean wow. This is truly one of a kind. Dwarf pomegranate, passionfruit, longing, dwarf mulberry, SO many types of fig trees. And paw paw seedlings. You have to see it all to understand. Bear in mind, this is their home, so you do not just drop in. Contact them to make an appointment, and you will not be disappointed!!!

Had the pleasure of visiting Trees of Joy and meeting the proprietor, Bass, earlier today. What an amazing variety of fig trees! We came home with four varieties we are anxious to grow and enjoy. Bass was very gracious in showing us many different trees he thought we would enjoy and would thrive in our care. Thank you so much for an enjoyable tour and for sending us on our way with some trees we're super excited to have.

Ordered Paw Paw trees and later in the week, Bass had called to inform one of the plants didn't look great, and offered me a different one in its place. The quality assurance and customer service before even receiving the product was amazing and would highly recommend this nursery just on that alone. I plan to do business with Bass again! Thank you so much Update: plants arrived and look really healthy.

The Best! My first online purchase for any online trees. Bass has an excellent reputation and is a very trustworthy man. After several purchases of rare trees I’ve been very happy with all parts of the transactions. All trees arrived strong and healthy with no unwanted bugs or diseases. Thanks!

Purchased a 1 ft Lebanese Cedar and it arrived quickly, and in great shape. I will definitely purchase from this place again. Packed extremely well with care. Glad I accidentally stumbled upon this Facebook page. Here's a 4 year update - tree still growing strong. Puts on a lot of new growth every year now since it's been established. Handles wind okay and a few bitterly cold nights here in low elevation NC (zone 7b).
